We are excited about our little addition. Something even more exciting is how excited everyone is for us. It was a long time coming, however I am feeling what it is all about to be preggers, like so many of my lovely friends. Many of you have asked if I am feeling okay or getting sick . . . . not really but yes in a weird kind of way. I am going to list off what I am feeling at this point (8 weeks) from most noticeable to least.

1. TIRED!!!

I seriously thought that I was just getting into a sad slump because I hadn't been working in a while, so thank you to those friends that were reassuring me and letting me know you get SUPER tired first trimester

2. BOOBS!

Thats right, my ladies are growing, it is gross actually. I really don't want bigger boobs, but I will just look forward to nursing them back down to size.

3. BEDTIME. . .

Yeah, I don't sleep super well anymore. I wonder sometimes if I get nauseous at night because I wake up numerous times not feeling awful, but definitely not feeling to good. (I wake up on average 5-6 times, not counting to pee)

4. THiRstY

Just a little more thirsty than normal. Oh how I love WATER

5. PEE pee

I am slowly needing to pee more and more, but not too bad

6. Loss of Appetite and FOOD

Certain things will sound good and then right before I got to eat them, NASTY is all I can think of. All I have to say is heightened sense of smell and taste. Some foods make me feel crapy after I eat them too. No cravings yet!! Wahoo

So I really can't complain. I know that so many people get UBER sick and barf non stop, YUCK! Well not for me, at least for now (my fingers are crossed it will stay this way and not get worse) I will feel pretty lucky if this is it!

Okay so lets talk

I think about my little 25 year history and all the things that have happened and I have started to realize these patterns of blessings when it comes to stressing. The past month I REALLY started to stress about life itself and our financials. I recommitted myself and my faith in my Heavenly Father and you know what . . . things have worked out. HE IS ALWAYS THERE! The cycle I always seem to be in is stress stress stress, pray pray pray, blessings blessings blessings. This time around when I renewed my FAITH, I wasn't stressed! The cycle has changed because I am understanding more and more about how to draw on the powers of heaven. Oh my, the wonders of the Earth.

I am so excited about what Jeremy and I have decided to do since we aren't ones for RESOLUTIONS! I have always thought that if you want to change something, then DO IT. Don't wait for the next year to roll around. This year we are trying it out however. . . .

All owed to a nutrition class I took this semester I am happy to announce our LIFE CHANGE!!!

(Jeremy stopped drinking soda about 8-9 months ago, cheers to you Jer!)

NOW it is on to what I call the NASTIES! Yup that is right, no more treats, candy, sweets, & garbage.

Did you know the average american consumes 225 LBS of sugar a year.

Even more importantly did you know that 40 LBS is what is recommended! YuCk

Not to mention the deadly dozen that is in SO much of the food we consume

like sodium chloride, MSG, Aspartame, food coloring, etc

So for us, it is to continue with a healthier life style that will

keep us kicking a little bit longer!!

No Soda (of course)

No Nasties

Exercise 3 times a week (Jeremy)

Climb, Ski, Mountain Bike, Camp

Exercise 4-5 times a week (Lindsey)

Learn how to ski (Lindsey)

Walk Pilot and Mazzy 2 hours a day - 2 walks

I just have to put it out there . . . I HATE EGG NOG. Creamy, nasty, thickness running down my throat, NO THANKS! This is about the only part of the holidays that I could do without.

This season is a little different than what normally happens under the roof of Lindsey Shaun. Emotions are high to say the least. Jeremy has about the WORSTE possible schedule ever imaged as a police officer on Christmas. I will get to see him for about 5 hours total. I know boo hoo, but there is more.

I am also feeling challenged in school. I have realized this semester I have some changes to make. Study, homework, habits, priorities, I am just figuring this stuff out and I need to keep it going. I want and hope that I can transfer to BYU. I HOPE HOPE HOPE.

TIS THE SEASON . . . for stress, good cookin, good lovin, service, divorce, gratitude, shopping, giving, working, friends, parties, and much much more.

All in all, I have to say that I am SO BLESSED! My mom is doing so so so great. She is done with her chemo treatments, had a hysterectomy, and is super optimistic, recovering, and seems happy all of the time. I love serving in the young women's. Jeremy HAS a great job that he enjoys, I shouldn't complain about the hours . . I know. My photography is fantastic. We have food in our fridge and cupboards and can pay bills. I feel loved by my dogs :) oh and jeremy too. I really don't have much to complain about.

I AM BLESSED!

OK, So this is actually a really funny picture to us! We saw these little hat things at Petsmart and started laughing. We were thinking about how ridiculous they would look on our dogs, and I am pretty sure we proved our point! Who buys these for their animals - FOR REALS, because we did it as a joke. My dog Pilot, on the right, seriously looks like the dog off of the grinch who stole christmas with antlers strapped to his head. At any rate, we are in the midst of the holidays, and I LOVE THEM. SO . . .

I went for a ride-a-long with Jeremy last night which was fun. I always like it when I am in a police car, driving 80 miles an hour, lights flashing, and your on your way to help someone (medical call). It feels good right :) I can't really explain my feelings about Jeremy right now, but sometimes (I hope this doesn't sound bad) I feel like I am just SO SO SO (as in TONS) in love with him. We always refer to it as being in-sync or having an"on" day just because sometimes we are off and sometime we are on. I love him all of the time, right now I just am overwhelmed by my feelings I guess. He is amazing and I am so proud of him. I appreciate SO much the things that he says and does for me and how he treats me. I am so blessed, really, to be married to him.

So last night me and some of the fam got together for sushi and christmas tree decorating. Chase, Erin and Ryan with Denali and Zac, my mom and dad and myself were all there. A couple of weeks ago I talked my mom into decorating her tree with ALL PINK to make it a breast cancer tree since she will done with her treatments before thanksgiving. She agreed and we were off shopping for PINK. Last night was the little celebration to get it all put together and we also decided what else we will need for finishing touches.

I am super glad my mom was so willing (again) to do this. Thanks momsy it was fun. Dad thanks for fronting the bill at Tepanyaki :)

Alright so i got this new job about a month ago and was SO excited about it because they totally recruited me. Well after a couple of weeks working there . . . . I just couldn't handle it. I was having to go up to Oakley, which is SO PRETTY yet SO FAR AWAY, and sleep two different nights a week up there. Lets talk about how that is not conducive to married life. Besides I have TONS of school and photo shoots so I was just stressed about going up there all of the time. TODAY I CALLED IN AND QUIT. I know that is so unprofessional of me, especially because it was such an opportunity, I just need to do what is best for me. I really love the program, the area, the campus, it would be just perfect if it were closer and I didn't have to sleep nights there. SO . . . I do feel a weight lifted off my shoulders and am excited to have more time for all of my photo shoots! (of coarse)

So I know that the pictures are SUPER random. The christmas tree is one that I saw just barley at Tai Pan Trading and LOVED IT. SO CUTE. The little house is our OLD HOUSE! I can't believe it. The rich young lad that purchased it totally remodeled the exterior! It looks SO GOOD and that is totally how Jeremy and I would have done it. The shot of the bed is my new bedding . . . doesn't it just look LUSH! I think so. I am way into green right now . . . . ?

I can't believe I haven't mentioned this on the blog yet! I have been super crazy busy, maybe thats why . . . Jeremy and I had our anniversary a couple of weeks ago and it was Jeremys year. Jeremy asked me to go get ready for the evening and told me we would be gone for 3-4 hours. So I did of coarse. Well we get on our way and obviously we are headed to SLC, then I notice Jeremy isn't going where I would have thought he would be going. (you see I like to predict that I know where he is going at all times, like hes an open book . . . not today) Then we arrived at PICTURELINE. My favorite store. Jeremy walked in with me stood very close, face to face, and said Lindsey I want you to pick out any one piece of equipment. . . . . (and some other cute things) I think I had to pick my jaw up off of the ground. He is so supportive. He is so encouraging. He is so loving and perfect for me. And he did so AWESOME with planning for our anniversary :)

It's crazy how time flies.

(especially when all your friends are asking, "when you are going to have kids?" . . . . :)

I would say that the last three years have been the best life changing years of my life. I am married to someone that I could have only dreamed about years ago. I remember when I was single thinking about how rad my grandpa was because he is so mellow, easy going, calm, patient and loving. I thought, "I want to find someone like that!" I don't think I really thought that it was possible for me because of how fast I move through life. . . . Well I will attest to the fact that our Heavenly Father listens to us ALL OF THE TIME and knows what is best for us, because my husband is everything I could want and more. He is my opposite and my left hip. He is patient, calm, relaxed, stress free, loving, caring . . . . . Jeremy I am super grateful for you and I love you. Heres to another year sweetie!

WhERE are MY STress Relievers?

So for those of you that don't know the little life of turmoil I have been living . . . its time to find out because I need to just let it out! My work (Willow Creek School) went bankrupt so I lost my job. This was super hard because I didn't have any control over this and couldn't do anything to fix it. I was also really sad about it because I really liked everyone that I worked with and I invested a lot of time and energy into my position that I earned.

So with the tides turning unexpectedly, stress has begun to seep into my life. I need to get rid of the stress in my life, I wish I was like jeremy. If I were to give you an analogy of Jeremy, he would be a brick wall and stress would be a rubber ball. It just doesn't effect him, bounces right off. Sometimes I think I stress for both of us which isn't fun, let me tell you.

So on-top of loosing/grieving my job came the choice of a new job. I had three different offers which were all great and had good benefits. One shined above the others and to everyone surprise it is a LONG and FAR commute. What can I say, when someone's offer, location, and opportunities outshines everyone, its hard to even want to look at the other options. Really though I feel super lucky and blessed to know such great people, have a talent, and receive such a great job opportunity. So I am now working at Oakley School in Oakley, UT. It is by Kamas for those of you who don't know where that is (above heber city east of park city). It is a beautiful relaxing drive and I only have to do it round trip twice a week.

Well to keep piling it on I have been juggling my new calling in church (YW Laurel Advisor), figuring out my new schedule with Oakley, going to UVU, homework for school, studying and TESTING (which I have sucked at lately) for school, launching my new website, booking potential clients, photo shoots, editing photo shoots (Merm yours is coming:), investing/marketing for LSC Studio, cleaning house. MY LIFE IS CRAZY. I can't wait until I am done with school, it is such an added stress and of course I take on too much.

I know I know I am a complainer and there are so many more people in the world that deal with much harder issues and juggling schedules than I, I just wanted to complain today.

It always gets to that point where you are freezing your rear off on the field, no doubt! BUT, no matter how bad the weather is I always hate the end of outdoor season because it is my favorite. Last Saturday (when it was a torrential down pour) that was pretty miserable, almost as miserable as when I was on ODP. Today was cold, but just right. Farewell till next season!

Today I had the pleasure of shooting someone very important to me. This is my mom and she is fighting breast cancer for the second time. I was timid to ask her about this photo shoot because I thought that her answer would be no. Without hesitation, she was willing. She is so supportive of my creativity and I owe her lots. So much of me stems from who she is and how she raised me (bad or good). I think she is beautiful. Inside and Out!

So last week we were up in Montana with Merm, Melissa, and Rebecca + families. The Latimer Family Cabin/Ranch/Estate is in a GREAT location. Super close to Yellowstone, the Lake, and trails. This was the first time we were able to just let our dogs roam free for multiple days and it was perfect because of the acreage they had. They were SUPER exhausted by the time were in the car on the way to Idaho. We stopped and ended up spending two and a half days in Idaho with Jeremy's Parents.

I OBVIOUSLY don't do well with horses as this trip attested. The combination of overdosing on my inhaler, benydryl and peppermint extract oil wiped me out. I was not my self that was for sure and I apologize to my friendees for that! I love you guys regardless! Here are a few pics from the trip.

Last monday Melissa and I scaled the the Timpanogus Mountain and hit the summit! I would say that I have seen a lot of things, been to a lot of places, and squatted behind many a bush, but this was the FIRST time I actual hit a summit of a mountain. It was a good time, thanks for the idear Melissa.

I picked up the Kite Runner before we left on our honeymoon because I was hearing all sorts of talk about it. After we got stuck in the hurricane it gave me a good reason to start on the book, and man I couldn't put it down! Khaled does such an awesome job of painting a picture and helping me to visualize a culture I am so far from understanding! It does have a graphic scene in the book that is uncomfortable to those of who might be thinking about reading it, however it is worth it and that one scene is what the book and cultures is all about.

Now on to A Thousand Splendid Suns. I just finished it today. Khaleds second book, and EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ IT. Again there are some things in in the book that make you uncomfortable (abuse, etc.) however it wouldn't be the book it is with those details left out. I also believe from what I have read and what I have heard is that even though his books are fictional, they have real stories or relations to what Khaled went through as a boy growing up in Afganistahn.

Both of his books have kept me totally engaged and I couldn't stop turning the pages so if you are looking for a good book, this is an author you will want to follow.

My mom has started to loose her hair already, after 1 chemo treatment! If she runs her fingers through her hair, 7-10 hairs stair back at her from her hand. She went and cut her hair SUPER short today to make the process a little bit easier. So far she is doing okay. The week right after her treatment she was NOT feeling good! I think as it gets filtered through her system she starts feeling better because the first day this happened, she got up went to lunch and ran a bunch of errands, she was so proud of herself! She had to tell me all about it when I got home.

On Saturday I had a really awesome opportunity to go through the temple as an escort to my dear friend Maka while she received her endowments. I remember after talking with her a few times, calling Jeremy on the phone and saying I thought it was the start of a really good friendship. She has been a really good example to me and I am so blessed that she invited me to this really important day. I have never been an escort before and it was neat to hear from the temple matron, the instructions that she gave to Maka, just as I received them over a year ago. It was also a spanish session which was new to me. I had overwhelming feelings of how vast and encompassing the gospel is for everyone around the world and how grateful I am for that. I have been blessed with the opportunity to know about and be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am grateful for Joseph Smith. So the other day when I went swimming with my friends, thats right Rebecca, Jana, and Nicole, I GOT ROASTED! I really hope my skin doesn't end up looking like that ladies up above! I wouldn't be surprised with all the sun my fair skin has seen between river days and pool side hangouts. I haven't heard about anyone else getting sunburnt! What the heck. I finally slept okay last night because it is SLOWLY going away. The best part about it is that it is only on the front! I was at my soccer game and had to change shirts and some of my team mates were laughing at me because it was cherry red on the front and pasty white on the back.

EVERYONE PLEASE REMEMBER SUN SCREEN (including me) CANCER BLOWS!

So I don't know how I am feeling right now about the news I received from my dad two days ago. He pulled me aside as I was walking by and I kept walking and looked back at him to see a very serious look in his eye which you really don't see very often. He paused for a moment after a turned back around to him and then in a soft voice said we have found breast cancer again in mom. I held it together right then because I could see the despair that was on my dads face. I asked him if he was okay and he said yeah. I asked him again because I know when he is lying and he again said he was fine. I told him that I could tell he wasn't and wrapped my arms around him and held him for a few moments. When I pulled away his eyes were filled with tears and he said, Lindsey I have already broke down once in front of your mom, I need to be strong right now. We are going to fight it and we are going to beat it again just like last time.

I have feelings of anger, frustration, worry, and I am just scared. No it isn't directed towards God, nor anyone. I just have seen my mom go through this before and she was a fighter back then and was able to beat it. I don't understand why she has to go through it again and I am really worried because I don't think she is a fighter like she used to be. I am not sure how much she really wants to fight it. She doesn't know that I know this but, the other day everyone was out of the house and she had taken a bath and before she changed into her new clothes, she looked at herself in the mirror and thought, I am okay with dying at this point in my life. The problem with that is that I am not okay with her dying at this point. I really believe we will constantly be placed in front of trials that seem like giants. I also believe that at any moment you could fail because of your attitude.

This time around she has had inflammation, redness, burning (heat actually coming from the location), etc. When they find cancer like this is usually tends to be in a stage 3 or 4. When they were doing some testing they also poked at it a few times which, if you rupture a cyst that has cancer it can cause it to spread more quickly.

I have rambled on long enought about this, I hope my mom can find the fighter that I know is in her. I hope that all of you will remember my mom and my dad in your prayers. I know that they will be in mine.

I just want to blab about how big a pain in the BUTT (aka rear end) it is to sell a house. I think it is the most high anxiety driven stressful situation I have ever had to deal with. Really. We are under contract and just got the appraisal back which is $2,000 under, yeah I said UNDER, what it appraised for when we bought it. I know, I know, wrong time to sell, but it is the right time for us to move so what do you do? If we get stuck in this house I will not complain at all. It is a great house, I am just ready to be away from BYU, living on a not so busy street, and somewhere I feel like I can invest my time and settle down with muffins in the ovens. I mean oven, we are not polygamist. Anyway, everyone pray for us that it will come through and work out. I will pray to the real estate gods!

So I was just looking through a bunch of pictures of what I would like to call "serious after high school pal time" and I have to say that I had a lot of good times with a lot of great friends. I really am so grateful for the friendships that I have with people, especially those of you who really know the TRUE Lindsey Shaun and appreciate her(me). A big fat hug goes out to all of you that have been a part of my life and that will continue to be a part of my life! Thanks for making it THAT much better!

I know life catches up with us, but I always find myself thinking; What is Janelle doing right now in Prague? How is Branges baby? How many kids is Rebecca going to have before I pop one out? Why does Merm have to move so far away? Will she come back or get sucked into Cali's lifestyle? Why don't I talk to Goldie more? And for Melissa, I was looking at a picture of you and I and thinking how rad our adventures have been, lets keep them going regardless of kids and hubbies (and that goes for any of you!)

Easter. Easter. Easter. I know that at Easter is about Christ and that is what we should be focused on, however I have always been so occupied by "The Hunt." Ever since I was little, I remember Grandpa Christensen setting us free in the yard to find eggs. He wasn't easy on us either, there were some tough eggs to find. Yeah I know I am not the one doing the hunting anymore, but I sure am the one hiding them for the kids now! I do a pretty darn good job too, if I do say so myself. (pictures to prove it) At any rate mom made a great dinner, it was super nice to see the grandparents. I got a picture with them because I was thinking about how much I DON'T see them and it is unfortunate. When I was dating I thought about the type of person I wanted to be married to and the person that I imagined was my Grandpa Christensen because he was always a strong, sturdy, stable, mellow, loving kind of man. Now that I am married to Jeremy I can see how lucky I am to have found that. My mom has even told me a couple of time that she thinks he reminds her of Grandpa. Funny how things work, it's all about "The Secret!". I do love my family! I am super grateful today for them, especially right now thinking about them. David I miss you tons and wish that you were closer! Happy Easter Everyone! PS, am I for real related to Chase? I don't see the resemblance at ALL!

This is us in the vets office and I am having major flashbacks right now. When we first got Pilot he was deathly ill. It took $3,000 and a month of hydro therapy, IV's, and vet attention to get him back on his feet. He had e-coli and pneumonia. Sitting in the vets office with Mazzy was giving me serious anxiety thinking that might happen all over again. In the end the vet said that they hope it is only an intestinal infection and gave me some medication. The only problem is that she is still not doing well today and we have to go back to the vet AGAIN! She just lays in her crate, pees on herself, drinks a tiny bit of water, doesn't eat, and can't stand up for very long before she collapses to the floor. I know all of you are thinking how crazy I am for going through this with a dog and that I am probably wasting my time and money, however this is where I am at right now. All my love and efforts get channeled to my dogs because I love them TONS,(one day all of my efforts will be channeled to my kids :) until then. . . . Hang in there Mazzy!

Some favorite pictures from Nicaragua

I recently just got back from a trip to San Juan Del Sur in Nicaragua. 18.5 cordobas to 1 US Dollar, dirty water, no TP down the toilets, and a new outlook on life. I spent some good time getting to know new friends and appreciated my time with them. I also realized how much I have to appreciate here in Utah including Jeremy! Jeremy wasn't able to go because of his new job and I do have to say that I appreciate him even more after this trip. 1 for letting me go, 2 for being excited for me to go, 3 for his support emotion, physically, and spiritually, and 4 etc. etc. etc.

I realize now that I shouldn't complain about my old little 1920's house because people in Nicaragua live in little corrugated metal shacks. I do think however that the states need to take cooking lessons from all of the people in San Juan Del Sur and if I could only bring the beautiful mix of fresh coco y limon ice cream here to sell, I would be a millionaire! Chantel, Steve, Lynn, Natasha, Kim, Jess, jen MB, Faber, Miranda, Mirandas boyfriend whose name escapes me right now, Karen, and myself. . . . CHEERS TO A GREAT TRIP!

ThERe HaS Been PilOT anD WE HavE AddED MaZZY

There has always been Pilot in Jeremy and I's life, or so it seems. He has become part of our family, of "us". Last week we decided to add another part to "us" and her name is Mazzy. I know I am crazy. I have had days where I was in tears over Pilot, and now I have added this one to the mix. She is a twelve week old Weimaraner, Pilot is a Vizsla.

I took Mazzy up to my parents house today and she was watching me hold Mazzy in my lap and love her and she said "Lindsey, what you really need is a little one." Now my mom doesn't talk to us much about having kids or pushing this because I think she knows that we have taken our time and are going at our own pace. The wierd part about that is that through out the day today I have continued to wonder to myself if getting Mazzy was the right thing. I love her to death, but really, should we have gotten her? Maybe I am using dogs as an excuse and/or my birth control, and by all means it is in an excuse. They are so much work, and having two dogs is more work than I really imagined. I continued the conversations with my parents about dogs vs my life. There is no way for me to start having kids now, Mazzy is a pain in the rear because I am always cleaning up after her and feeling like I need to be with her every second. I really love dogs but I am not sure if i signed up for the right thing. Maybe I need to give her and Pilot away. We will see where the wind blows us.

So I don't know who started the tradition but it has been a good one that is for sure! I have been able to see sides of my moms family that I don't think I would have other wise. My aunt LeeAnne is CRAZY! One of these times I am going to take a video camera so I can show all of the people out there who she really is. She has them all fooled that she is super sweet! My aunt Michelle has AWESOME stories from her younger years that I would have never thought because she seems to mellow. I also look at this Aunt and see a lot of similarities to my mom in her features. At any rate it is a super fun weekend filled with laughing, teasing, competition, shopping, and really good food! Lets talk about Denali!

I just recently went down to St. George for our traditional "Sisters Weekend" trip. The last two times I have gone down I have been able to take my niece Denali swimming, just her and I. It is crazy how old she has gotten, the smarts she has, and how nice/sweet she is. I remember when my sister Erin was in labor with Denali and I was so anxious to see how my sister and the baby were. I laid on the ground outside of the door and stared at what little light was seeping through the crack under the door. I tried to listen for any sound that I could identify with Erins' labor pains or Denali screaming out.

Now Denali and I are BFF and we remind each other of that when we see each other. I probably more than her. She is the best little BFF I have ever had!

Officer Christensen

So this is my first posting and already I have a lot of catching up to do. There just might be 4 or 5 posts today so be prepared.

Jeremy graduated from the police academy last year and he started working for Mapleton Police Department at the first of this year. He is really enjoying it and I LOVE seeing him doing something that he likes. (Jers Story, hope he doesn't mind) He told me before he even started the police academy, that he had always felt like he needed to serve his country because of things he was told in his patriarchal blessing. He talked to me about different times through his life he had thought about joining, the process he went through, and the decision that seemed to hold him back. Over a year ago we had moved next door to a police officer and chatted with him, and it made me ask Jeremy "have you ever thought about being a police officer?" He surprisingly told me yes, when I was half joking at the question. Later that week he ran into someone that was in the academy already and was able to ask him a bunch of questions. Then he ran into someone else who talked to him about how the academy was starting soon. He started talking to me about it and relating how he had always wanted to serve his country and how this was feeling right. Everything was making sense to him. SO. . . . 10 months later he graduated the academy and is now a sworn in officer. I am proud of him!

Kind of crazy if you ask me, especially because he packs heat just when we go to dinner!
